Crossfit moving day, Breakfast, Gaming with friends, and Voting!!

PART 1- CROSS FIT MOVING DAY

I had a very enjoyable kiwi experience the other day whenever a call was put out to help move our CrossFit gym a.k.a. box. Cecil was working, so I ended up going alone. Cecil probably would have been more help but I was determined to do what I could to help. Why? Well, often am one of the poorest people as far as fitness goes but everyone there still always so kind to me and I don't feel like I'm a burden to have around there, which is appreciated. I've made small gains and the box is probably one of the few things I will really miss from Whanganui.

Anyway, I showed up at 8 AM which was the start time. The owners and their adorable new baby were there but like many things it ran on what they called "Maori time", and started late.  Now, Crossfit is considered to be a Whānau, or extended family, to a lot of people..... and a LOT of "family" showed up.  Probably around 30 people.  It was also a family friendly affair, as a lot of the friends had brought their children and the kids were helping everybody was in very good spirits. It only took a couple of hours to move everything, which was shocking. Most of the people left that point, myself included. They had some cleaning to do and had to set up the next box. Cecil and I even stopped by after I picked him up from work and got to see the new box which was nearly put together less than 10 hours later. Cec and I are looking to Monday morning class and being the first to bless it with sweat!

(Final class in the old box!)

(Everyone started just living things up- like the floor tiles!)

(Trailers were brought! This one got overloaded! Look at the car pulling it it got pulled to the ground)

(Having Crossfit beasts as help doesn't hurt! Here he is heavy carrying 100k (a little over 200lbs) the 500ish meters to the new box)

(Not everyone walked back and forth there was a lot of riding)

(There was also a lot of community help, as it should be)

(Lots of watching kids and playing while working too!)

(Pizza, chips, and beers for lunch! Nutrition challenge starts tomorrow right, bruh?)

(New box is looking awesome)

PART II- BREAKFAST WITH FRIENDS MARK AND MOLLY & GAMING

We have been super social lately, probably because everyone realizes we are about a MONTH (holy cow!) from leaving.   A couple of our friend who are originally from Denver, Colorado had up over for an amazing breakfast as a thank you because we let them stay with us for a couple of days before they could move into their rental.  No big deal.  Molly made this great banana bread, which was then turned into some amazing french toast.  On top of that was an amazing Fritata, fruit, soda water and great conversation.

(Great way to start the day, amazing friends and food)

(Banana bread French toast is where it's at y'all)

(Check out Mark and Molly's beautiful new place)

(Cec likes thier log seat they brought in from the ocean!)

Later that afternoon, we had Brenna (Vegas, USA originally), Jess and James (Australian/Tasmanian in origin) over for some board gaming.  We introduced them to some Euro-style gaming.  They brought some amazing "nibbles" and it was one of what I would describe as a perfect day.   Stormy outside, cozy inside with drinks, chatter, jokes, food and fun.

(Fun times, even in a candid pic)

(yummy)

PART III- VOTING & MISC

So, ballots open for those of us who are away.  No, we are not going to discuss politics.... but we voted!  Go USA.  Cec also has been running like a dog and did his first 20 mile run, even getting rained on at one point.

(Voting accomplished!)

(And they are even in the Mail)

(Cec is amazing isn't he?  I don't want to walk 20 miles much less run them)
